Our tree will be covered in these crusty little creatures soon, but I was surprised to see one in the molting stage today. According to what I just read on wikipedia, "Many people around the world regularly eat cicadas; the female is prized, as it is meatier." Well, I won't be serving them for dinner, but it was interesting to photograph.

We enjoyed a fun time at the Ballpark tonight. So much so that my three children were up past midnight in order to see the fireworks show at the end. And it was worth it! Too bad the Rangers couldn't pull off a win, but we had a great time.

My cousin and her family are here to visit, and this is Silas. He never fails to give me some good poses for the camera. It's actually pretty amazing how he can come up with one crazy one right after the other. Super Silas is silly and seven!
